Good when it works, but!!!!! (2009-04-10)
This is a great machine when it is working, however, we have had a problem with reliability. Our first machine worked around a month, then stopped cold. It did display an error code which the support person we dealt with was unfamiliar with. They exchanged the unit and about 8 days later we received a new unit. The new unit never successfully fed a sheet of paper (jammed every time), and after the usual trouble shooting with technical support, this unit was also returned. 5 days later and now we have received a third unit which after 2 days appears to be working. The support was OK, with prompt swaps of non-working machines. After the second failed machine I put in for a refund as I was concerned about future reliability of a machine receiving critical faxes, but this was denied. Hope others have more luck with this unit.

Good enough, but could have been better. (2009-04-02)
I bought this one because I am tired of going out every time when I need to copy or scan something. With a machine like this at home, I can scan everything and keep a digital version of everything. This machine does exactly what I want.

It took me a while to figure out the best way to scan documents. Use Adobe Acrobat (not free Acrobat Reader). There is a menu called "scan to pdf...", choose "Black and White" for color mode, feed the document onto the top ADF, and there you go! All pages into one PDF file, the print-out quality can match original document perfectly. Much better than I expected.

You can also do everything using Samsung' software called "SmarThru 4" that comes with the CD. It works, but in a very slow and painful way. *Samsung, get some real coders.* Another complain is that the paper tray is too tight. I will give it 5 star if the tray can go 1 millimeter wider than what it is now.

No complains on Copying and Printing. Never tried Faxing. The start-up noise does not bother me at all.

Windows Network goes off and on having to regboot to enable (2009-03-09)
The Print Quality is great but Windows networking in VIsta is flawed, going from a Adtran Switch to the 2Wire wireless router, when trying to print states unable to print network down, on the printer LCD states printing and does not, you have to reboot system then it prints. I re-installed software and updated it and the same result. you cannot scan either it will not connect states unable to connect and gives error the software "Scanner device not responding Please check if device is turned on"
It is!! It copies well. Other printers work well on this setup.

SAMSUNG SCX-4725FN All-in-One, Multifunction, Printer, Laser Printer, Scanner (2009-02-24)
All Functions of the scx-4725fn worked right out of the 2nd box. The Dell router communictated with the printer. XP accepted the printer on a network.
Do check the box because the first one I got was banged up. Do not throw away the box. Amazon quickly had another new printer to me in two days.
My only complaint is the instructions are pictures on a paper sheet with 8 other languages. It was confusing for me. There is a Postscript CD which supposedly has all the instructions.
The printing, fax, copying and scan work fine.
Higly recommend this network printer to anyone who needs a multifunction printer.
